Founder’s Message

Kazuki Yasumura

Founder & CEO, GO&C Partners Pty Ltd

Since 2017, I have been living in Sydney, Australia with my family, far from my home country of Japan.

Before moving to Australia, I worked for a U.S.-based global company, which gave me opportunities to work across the United States, Singapore, and Europe. For nearly three decades, I have pursued the mindset of a global citizen—working across borders, cultures, and perspectives while striving to contribute to a more sustainable and connected world.

Yet the longer I have lived overseas, the more I have come to rediscover Japan through the eyes of people returning from their travels there. Time and again, they have reminded me of the unique qualities that make Japan such a special place.

I thought I was introducing Japan to others.
In reality, they were teaching me about Japan.

Their words of admiration made me realise that many things we consider ordinary in Japan are, in fact, extraordinary. Those moments inspired me to preserve and share the values that make Japan unique.

01

A rich food culture where quality, affordability, and craftsmanship are part of everyday life.

02

Clean streets despite the absence of public rubbish bins, reflecting a shared sense of responsibility.

03

Public facilities maintained with care by people who quietly support others behind the scenes.

04

Reliable public transport and systems that value punctuality and respect for everyone's time.

05

A culture of kindness, where helping others comes naturally in everyday life.

06

A safe society where people can live with confidence because communities genuinely care for one another.

Every time I hear someone say,
“I want to live here.”
or “I want to raise my family here,”
I am reminded of Japan’s true value.

Of course, there are still aspects of Japanese society that I hope will continue to evolve. Since leaving Japan after high school, I have recognised both the strengths and the challenges of our culture—including excessive self-sacrifice and an overwhelming work-first mindset.

Even so, I have come to believe that Japan's greatest strengths—its compassion, respect for others, and spirit of hospitality—are values worth preserving for future generations.

Drawing on my experience as a global citizen, I want to contribute to Japan's future by rediscovering its strengths, working alongside like-minded people, and creating new ways to connect those values with the world.
